23 Mobile Things - Thing 9 - Taking and Editing Photos

For the ninth Thing I decided to do LINE Camera, because the description reminded me of purikura (from "print club"), photo booth things in Japan where you take pictures and then draw on them and/or decorate them with stamps and then they print out as stickers. This app does not disappoint! There’s a ridiculous amount of options for not just decorating photos but also manipulating them, especially selfies. You can enlarge your eyes, narrow your face, buy stamp sets (usually for $1.99 it seems) or use the ones that already come with it, take pictures with the app, access other photos and images on your device… quite a lot. It looks like you can also share on a variety of platforms, including Facebook.

Personally, this could be lots of fun making cute and/or ridiculous edits to photos. The eye-enlargement and face-slimming and volumnizing tools are a little strange but amusing, especially the last one on my husband’s beard! Professionally it could be used to edit photos to add cute elements to reach out to demographic that like that sort of thing - you could also hold contests where patrons might edit a photo of some famous long-dead author, for fun or prizes, or other such things.
